I’ve hear that from the grassy knoll, to the manhole cover as the limo was passing, to Secret Service agent in Johnsons car accidently discharging his weapon when the cars sped up. There have been so many stories, so many re-enactments over the years......I just sometimes think when I’m trying to process all this pro and con that maybe, just maybe, some nobody brought down the most powerful man in the world and those in charge of keeping that from happening just couldn’t deal with it......sigh

If you ever get the chance to go to the 6th Floor exhibit, they have a glass room that recreates where everything was (some of the LEO’s apparently started moving stuff and then someone said “hey this is a crime scene, maybe we ought to leave it where it was”) around just the window where LHO was sitting.
You can go to the very next window and look out at the street, which has a painted “X” or something showing where the limo was when he was hit.
At that point the limo is driving away and parallel to the front of the building which is quite close to the street.
Standing there looking out the window, the shot only requires a bit of lead on a target going basically straight away. It reminds me of shooting Trap. It is surprisingly close.
