Interference with Personal Internet Communications: Asking Help / Opinions From FR Web Tech Guru's
White House ^ | 20 Nov 2020 | Sense

Posted on 11/20/2020 12:51:06 PM PST by Sense

I'm experiencing a number of unusual communications issues that have been interfering with my ability to access and use web functions, including blocking my access to Free Republic, and disrupting my search functionality.

I'm not talking about the recent issues with changes in the home port location of the FR webpage. I'm technically literate, so its not a problem with the cache being stuffed or anything obvious like that.

Just got off the phone with Jim Rob so have cleared the potential issues there... but PLEASE NOTE: unfortunately, I called before seeing this:

https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3907419/posts

It appears it is a knowing and deliberate interference being imposed with origins at the ISP level... filtering my access based on content.

Similar issues exist elsewhere... as searching Youtube using the "best" Google search functions inside Youtube won't show you what you're looking for, but searching Youtube using an external search engine with the exact same keywords DOES show what you're seeking ? Obviously it is not a function that is random.

I'm asking for others with technical knowledge of the web privacy issues and wrongful intrusion to add evidence of any other such instances, or seek discussion of how best to capture evidence of this wrongful behavior to enable legal action. Opinions from lawyers with internet related experience would be useful.

I have taken screenshots of the pages showing the problem on my end:

My first attempts at accessing FR today yield: "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site."...

An aside: When I look at "Isitdownrightnow.com" it says FR is down... yet here I am posting on FR ? Anyone else see that... or do you see something different ?

Began my effort today, before looking for FR, using simple search, straight forward, using Startpage.com as a search engine. Search looked at the single entry word "Smartmatic". Not TOR, no VPN, not a company, no unique firewall or browser configurations... have IP Tables set to filter our DNS addys in a list of known hostile locations... so could be a local ISP with spoofing issue.

If so, its not an accident... and I want to prove it.

Same type of statistical effort applied in proving election fraud might expose this issue incontrovertibly ?

My first search effort today returned generic garbage... so refined that search once and repeated... got this in reply:

---------------------------------------------------

Just checking ...

We apologize for the inconvenience: to prevent possible abuse of the Startpage.com service, your Internet connection has been prevented from accessing it at this time.

This happens when a large number of search requests are received from one's Internet connection in a short amount of time -- for example, if you are using "screen-scraping" software, or if you are sharing a connection with many people, perhaps through a proxy service.

Otherwise, if you have received this message in error, please help us in investigation by providing following information:

- Are you using TOR or other anonymous proxies? - Do you have special browser configuration or extensions? - Are you using VPN? - Are you using a company network?

We will seek to refine and correct this whenever possible. Thank you for your patience.

------------------------------------------------------

Startpage works using Google as a backend but (in theory) scrapes identifiable information, keeps no logs, etc.

Having tested the issue on my end, it does appear this "error" occurs ONLY when I'm searching terms clearly relevant to the ongoing election fraud or particular interest in politics, non MSM sources and opinion.

It is also obvious that search results being returned are "cooked" to make them "generic" at best... including preventing search access to known resources that exist.

Basic backbone access IS being filtered for politics ?

to know if its being blocked by your isp, try using a vpn then trying again.

Also clear your browser cache.

private mail me for a deep dive.

What Gene Eric said. Flush your DNS.

What Spirochete said. Try other DNS servers.

Manually set those DNS servers in your computer system’s settings. List at least 4 DNS servers. You can look up DNS servers that are “free” online:

https://www.lifewire.com/free-and-public-dns-servers-2626062

My two cents- avoid: Google, Cloudflare, and Quad9 “free” DNS servers.

Check your hosts file. You might enter a line:

45.79.56.181 freerepublic.com

or

45.79.56.181 www.freerepublic.com

If your Internet browser is set up to block cookies in general, or 3rd party cookies, you will need to manually set your Internet browser to accept cookies for domain name:

freerepublic.com

So we are told... the backbone doesn’t filter. Requires filters have to be enabled in side-streams... with diversions occurring. Those don’t happen without leaving tracks ? In fully channelized non-natural systems, that’s not happening randomly, as in diversions in deltas or eddy pools ?

As a simple boundary issue, backbone versus other, that’s not a real answer for user level issues where flows are being diverted... the diversions masked from user level awareness.

Agree it IS the ISP... engaging in illegal activity.

Probably solve that issue easily enough with a VPN... but I’m more interested in the problem than the solution.

Agree it is also code injection...

Issue seems, in part, that mirrors aren’t mirroring... but some have been tweaked enabling tailored access.

I do suspect carrier level involvement in enabling... an issue with which I have some prior experience.

The larger issue is the legitimacy, or lack thereof, in the carrier’s cooperation in self interest with not legitimate quasi-governmental or shadow-government enabling...

Politely said, perhaps... contractor malfeasance...

The “FBI” wrongly spying on Trump... never got around to asking questions about who Crowdstrike is and why they had any role at all in being anywhere near flows of TS?SCI ?
That shit didn’t get on Hillary’s server by itself ?

Wholly illegitimate access... even lying to the FISA court... while the “system” he’s ostensibly the boss of turned on POTUS ? Means I should trust them to not spy on me, and others... or do worse ? They’re trying to steal the entire election... committing obvious fraud in the process... have the media flat out lying, demonstrably so, about damn near everything... but, they wouldn’t dare mess with your internet ?

Making enemies lists... and doxxing people... but, the giant monopolies are not capable of screwing with your comms ?

A more correct answer is that the link provided works just fine right now... while the link provided by Spirochete does not... not only returns the error, but altered code prior to browser filter functioning...

Yes, I do find that somewhat odd. I think that their (Isitdownrightnow.com> server cache might need a refresh or something along those lines.

If FR actually *IS* down, are we ghosts in the machine?

Most everyone is still considering their internet connection to be an open pipe... and not an individually tailored flow.

Haven’t considered much how IIA could be structured to influence... say, Roberts...

But, I’d ASSUME (and thus be wrong) that “they’d be all over that”. We see the impact anyway in the media driven bubble as “flows” of “information” that are structured to bounce off the walls of the echo chamber...

Haven’t seen much from people who know the problem is real... and know how tech works... addressing what it means in relation to links, with specificity, in “flow control”... one issue in the control of the physical link... another in tying a physical link to a particular flow of content ?

I’d guess another useful vantage point to have, in noting...

The “experts” who guaranteed the integrity of the election... are probably the same people who we’ve been trusting to be “on top of” internet security in every other sphere ?

CISA failures aren’t about “incompetence”... but malfeasance.

The internet backbone is composed of multiple, parallel 10gbs connections.

The routing engines all on ASICs optimized for forwarding speed.

To select for content in those massive flows is not feasible. Though they probably would if they could.

It’s the on ramps and off ramps where content selection occurs. And it does occur. Constantly. By any number of entities. None of them with your interests in mind.

Found the training video on youtube downloaded it from there.

"The “experts” who guaranteed the integrity of the election."

eric coomer was head of security and programer for Dominion (He wrote a Antifa manifesto and said openly on twitter the election was rigged(not in those words))

Richard Pilger WAS the federal director for election for the DOJ. It was reported his office screamed at the IRS (Lois Lerner) to do something. This while dominion systems had tons of political officials asking to look into the corrupted system including Elisabeth Warren.

Pilger stepped down as director in protest over the investigation into this years election. Which that same day the Dems started blaming each other for the problems in this election

Yes.

The inside of every closet that doesn’t exist is pretty much exactly like every other closet... except that it doesn’t exist... as far as you know... even when you’re in it.

Seems to me I saw a mention somewhere of a guy who bought himself one of the machines ?

Might be interesting to find out who that was and discuss other aspects of the software with a machine owner ?

Have seen vids “showing how easy it is to hack”... but didn’t think about enabling “community access”.

That might be a useful approach... ?

Alternatives ? People are often pretty stupid about what they put in patent applications.

Does make the point that guys in charge of security should have actual experience in... something other than watching porn and playing computer games, or marketing or management of others with the skills.

A coder can easily enough code rings around someone who is essentially clueless... without them ever knowing...

The government... ensures clueless people are in charge... and hands the keys to the kingdom to the contractors... that the politicians are in bed with... which is where the money is exchanged ?

Election-gate will blow the lid off the corruption... but it isn’t that corruption that is limited to that one venue ?

It’s like Snowden didn’t exist... not that he did something a little bit wrong... in order to expose OH MY GOD scale wrongdoing... which they then refused to see ?

Upton Sinclair — ‘It is impossible to get a man to understand something if his livelihood depends on him not understanding.’

And that explains the fraud of media unable to see fraud ?

I’m not entirely inexperienced... but, also would accept clueless as an appropriate enough moniker, given time perishable skills and plenty of time. But, still, aware enough to know it when I see it...

But, the truly clueless and the skilled alike... tend to be enormously lazy in their expectations of boundary functions.

As a manager... I might think to ask an NSA whistleblower who he thinks might make a good DHS security guy... long before I’d trust anyone inside DHS to make that call ?

In 2006 the backbone was multiple channels of 1gps.

Today, even feeder trunks exceed 40gps.

The core backbone has multiple 40gbs trunks in load share.

They don’t make processors fast enough to read all that traffic. And ASICs that power it have a singular forwarding function.

Something like this happened to me some time ago on my desktop PC and any dvice I used on my home network.
FR went down for a while (days?)

When it came back, I was whacked. So were a few other people. We were all from different parts of the country and had different ISPs.

I have no idea how far back to go to find the discussions here about it.

All the site checkers said FR was down. (It wasn’t)
I was able to access FR only thru a VPN.
(I could access FR on my cell phone and my laptop if I was logged on to an Xfinity hotspot, but not through my home network)

I tried everything.
Different browsers(alot of them)
Flushed DNS Caches til I was blue in the face.
Powered down\unplugged router\modem.
I changed DNS to use Google Public DNS.
I tried every “how to” I could find.
Ran Malwarebytes and anything else I had handy.

My pings to FR died after about 8 hops.
Had ISP (Comcast) ping FreeRepublic was ok on their end.

Nada...

What threw me the most was no browser worked. But the VPN worked regardless of browser.
It had to be hardware.
I ended up buying a new router, based on an obscure answer to a like question about this problem...
and that seemed to be the solution.
Whether it actually was or not, I don’t know.

(Figured I might as well upgrade everything - all CAT 7 cables, upgraded modem, ethernet controller and now running 1 Gbps and download speed is tickling 400 Mbps (though I am paying for 600)

If you have a different router you can try, that might be a start.

Good Luck...
