"with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners, or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty hand to heal the wounds of the nation, and to restore it, as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes, to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility, and union."
Democrats don’t want this getting out.

Something besides the 2020 election to stir the juices. A caregiver we have in our home one morning a week for my husband told me about this. She’s black or as she says:
“Where did this ‘black American’ term come from? I’m not black. Does my skin look black to you? I’m brown” and by golly, she was right...what is even more great - she’s NOT A LIBERAL!!! We can talk politics which wasn’t true of the one before her. This is about a black - OR BROWN - man:
“”John Hanson (April 14, 1721 to November 15, 1783) was an American Revolutionary leader who served as a delegate to Second Continental Congress and, in 1781, was elected the first “President of the United States in Congress assembled.” For this reason, some biographers argue that John Hanson rather than George Washington was actually the first President of the United States.””
“”Hanson was responsible for establishing Thanksgiving Day. On October 11, 1782, he issued a proclamation setting aside the last Thursday in November as “a day of Solemn Thanksgiving to God for all His mercies…” and urging all Americans to celebrate progress in negotiations with Britain ending the Revolutionary War. “”
Ironic he picked the same date for Thanksgiving as President Lincoln did - 81 years prior!!
