I don’t know, maybe. But I don’t think he was ever really loyal to MAGA or its General, Donald Trump. I remember seeing him on some show soon after the election pontificating about politics, Trump, etc. He explained to his audience, that Trump may end up doing a good job as President but that Trump is only motivated by self interest, not out of loyalty or love of country. He said this with such arrogant certainty.
Tucker never lost those feelings of antipathy towards Trump. He merely tucked them away and rode the MAGA wave because that’s where the audience was.
