SO when President Trump says, "We can never let this happen to another American President" I tend to think of the whole picture of impeachment and Hoaxes etc. or the ignoring of the rule of law must not be permitted.
But from the perspective of your comment, it may be more like, "It's taking so long because the impeachment and hoaxes, Ukraine etc. are just some of the heads of the hydra. We have to WAIT until the election to show you the root of the problem or it will lie dormant and grow back in time for the next election, and America will once again hang in the balance.
