In light of your call to prepare, forgive this long post from the preppier thread:

27 GROCERY STORE FOODS TO STOCKPILE

1. Breakfast cereals (fortified with fiber or vitamins; source of several macro nutrients)
2. Canned beans (all types; good source of protein, fiber, and some vitamins)
3. Canned chili (alternative to soup; source of fiber)
4. Canned chowder (alternative to soup; source of fat)
5. Canned fish (all types; good source of protein and some vitamins and minerals)
6. Canned fruits (all types; major source of vitamins)
7. Canned meats (all types; good source of protein, carbs, and more)
8. Canned soups (all types; good way to mix a variety of nutritious foods)
9. Canned vegetables (all types; major source of vitamins)
10. Chocolates (required snack for many people; source of fat and calories)
11. Cookies (tasty snack; may include a variety of macro nutrients)
12. Cooking oils, lard, butter (source of fiber, fat, calories)
13. Crackers (another snack; may be a good source of fat, fiber, and carbs)

5. Macaroni (boxed macaroni would be an easier alternative for some meals)
6. Nonfat dry milk (for a variety of purposes)
7. Oats (regular is preferred, though instant oats would suffice)
8. Pancake mix (another great breakfast meal besides oats)
9. Potato flakes (not the instant potatoes; mashed potato mix would be an alternative)
10. Spaghetti (be sure to include pasta sauce)
11. White rice (brown rice could be stored instead, if you prefer)

19 SUPERFOODS TO STOCKPILE

Superfoods to Boost Nutrition:
1. Cacao powder (could be used for some baking needs, also as a chocolate drink; needs sweetened)
2. Chia seeds (bland taste can be sprinkled into almost anything)
3. Coconut oil (good fat to cook with)
4. Eggs (freeze dried stores for years, real eggs can be coated in mineral oil to last months)
5. Flax seeds (includes similar nutrients to chia seeds, but higher oil content may not store as well)
6. Liquid minerals or multivitamin (more easily digested than a pill, useful during times of stress)
7. Multivitamin (pill form will stay viable the longest)
8. Protein powder (adequate amounts of protein is very important to maintaining a healthy body)
9. Spirulina (powder is a good choice and can go with almost any soup or stew)
10. Chlorella (like spirulina)
11. Wheat germ (bland taste can be sprinkled into almost anything)

Superfoods to Aid Digestion and Immune Support:
12. Digestive enzymes (helps to breakdown foods; could be beneficial during times of stress)

14. Probiotics or water kefir grains (useful for proper gut health)
