Question.....(sorry if this is something I should know, but I don’t lol)

Does Roberts have to want to hear a case in order for it to be heard? Does he have the final say-so?

The Supreme Court receives about 10,000 petitions a year. The Justices use the “Rule of Four” to decide if they will take the case. If four of the nine Justices feel the case has value, they will issue a writ of certiorari. This is a legal order from the high court for the lower court to send the records of the case to them for review.

I don’t know. I think Roberts can’t stop this because Alito got the other PA case heard (and it tied in SCOTUS before ACB was sworn in). I think if there are 4 judges willing to hear a case, it will be heard. But I’m not sure. We’ll see.

No news so far this morning.
