Please pray for my husband and my family- having a really hard time with news we just received

Sunday night my husband went to the hospital because he was feeling winded (48 years old). He had had shoulder surgery about 2 weeks prior so he was chalking it up to tensing too much from pain.

They did several tests on him, admitted him, more tests and then told us he needs an open heart triple heart bypass (family history)-- we are devastated and could really use your prayers right now.

My husband said "Have Faith" but to be honest, I feel like my wells are empty and I am having a hard time drawing upon them. I am scared...we have been married 30 years and he is our family's rock.

I know so many families here have gone through much more and I have so much to be thankful for... we probably found it a month away from a heart attack (50% clog, 90% clog, 80% clog).

Surgery is tomorrow at noon and I would appreciate you holding my husband Keith up in your prayers...thank you freeper family~

Praying the Lord will guide the surgeons, and that the Lord will increase your faith and flood you with His peace.

Be thankful - and relieved. Your husband found a serious problem before it had a chance to strike. These operations are very common and doctors doing them are highly specialized in it.

God bless you.

My husband recently had his second heart attack and had open heart bypass surgery three months ago. It was rough for two weeks, but he is doing well. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Keep busy, pray, have a positive attitude and recover.

Fear not and give it to God... Jehovah Rapha is our healer!

Read Philipeans 4:6-7... lean into it... He is with you.

I had a triple bypass in 2015.

I can’t tell you to not worry but if your husband is in otherwise good shape, this should be nothing to worry about.

The worst thing for me was the last day in ICU when they pulled the drainage tubes. That HURT! But generally, from post op to going home, I had a max of a 2 on the pain scale of 1-10.

Prayers up for you and your husband, recover soon!

Prayers aloft. I survived an open heart surgery to repair an aneurysm of the ascending aorta. Your husband can get through this with prayer and family support. The key to long term return to health is a cardiac rehab program.

Father, in the Name of Jesus, we lift up this man unto you, pleading the blood of Jesus over him, and asking for Grace, mercies, healing, life. We thank You that You are able to do exceeding abundantly beyond anything we can ask or even think. We thank You that You would, above all things, that he would prosper and be in health, even as his soul prospers. Give him and his family peace like a river, peace that passes all understanding, that will guard their hearts and minds. We ask these things in the Mighty Name of Jesus, Amen.

I’m praying for you. Several years ago my wife was told she had five or six months to live with out a heart transplant. She had been put on a new medication for an enlarged heart. The very next week she was told she was a super responder to that medication and her heart had almost returned to normal Don’t give up!!! By pass surgery is very common and gives very good results most of the time. Remember he is alive and has been told what his problem is ....not what caused his demise. There is a very good chance he will have a good recovery!!!

Recipe for a Miracle
Ingredients:

1 cup of tension

2 cups Stress

1 1/2 teaspoons of Guilt

2 heaping cups of Limited Time

3/4 tablespoon of Urgency

A dash of "No Other Choice"

3 heaping cups of Faith

Directions:

Fold ingredients gently into a bowl.

Mix vigorously and add a few tears.

You’ll sweat a little as you knead the dough.

Pack it firmly between your hopes and dreams and form into a perfect little ball.

Sprinkle it with a little faith, rolling the ball in the flour until fully covered.

Place it under a veil of belief and allow it to rise.

Put it in an oven that has been pre-set at the perfect temperature for the heat of trials and tribulations.

Allow it to brown under the warmth of God’s love

Remove after due season and allow to cool in the confidence of His promise.

Garnish with your praises.

Arrange neatly on a platter of thankfulness and serve to friends, families and, oh yes, strangers... invite them too!

At age 62, I was told I was a heart attack waiting to happen. I had four coronary arteries 80% occluded. How could this happen I asked? I had been a long distance runner and athlete my whole adult life. Doc said sorry but it was genetic. My dad had the same problem but they didn't have the technology to fix it back then. Now they did.

Two week later I had open heart surgery, a quadruple bypass and atrial valve repair. The surgery went fine and I was expected to go home to recover five days later.

But on day two post-op, life and fate intervened and I was having an x-ray taken in bed in surgical ICU. I threw a pulmonary embolus and my heart arrested and I stopped breathing. Long story short, I was dead. Flat-lined. They had to cut my chest back open and the surgeon hand-massaged my heart until it started beating on its own again. It was a miracle. My wife was by my side the entire time and gave me the strength to do what I knew I had to do.

I spent five weeks in the hospital instead of 5 days and went home expecting to be homebound from then on. But a kick in the pants by my loving wife and my decades long 10k and marathon running discipline kicked in and I slowly started to shuffle around the house, then walked and over 2 years I regained all my strength. I healed up and started doing strength training. Now I am healthy again and walk everyday. I can't run because I've had both my knees replaced.

The reason I'm telling you my story is because these things are scary and frightening. You don't think you can rise up and face them. The well is dry.

But the human spirit and the will to live inside of us is strong. I had no fear going into my open heart surgery that anything bad would happen. But it did. And I came out the other side stronger than ever.

Ironically, now that I am strong and healthy again, I need a shoulder replacement for a bad arthritic shoulder. I am trying to decide now whether to have the replacement done or just learn to put up with the pain.

But the reason I am telling you this is so you will know that you and your family are not alone in this. Others have gone through it. Others have struggled and survived. I am better now that I was before. So will your husband.

I will pray for your husband and his well-being and recovery. It is not easy but be there for him, no matter how deep you have to dig. You can do this. My wife was my support through all of my travails. Without her help and prayers I don't know if I would have made it. But she was there for me and I made it through. Without her, I am not sure I would be.

Now at age 72, I am working on our farm and we're raising our 3 year old granddaughter. Life is good.

Sweetie, God’s strength is made perfect in our weakness. Triple bypass was once a death sentence. No More. The heart surgeons and the team they muster are expert at this procedure now. Keith’s toughest discomfort will be his leg(s) where they borrow blood vessels to repair the clogs. Be of good courage, God knows our distress and has Peace that passes all understanding reserved for His redeemed.

"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds,’ declares the LORD"
Jeremiah 30:17

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Isaiah 41:10

"'I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,' says the Lord, 'And I will heal him.'"
Isaiah 57:19

For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
Matthew 18:20

"Be still, and know that I am God;
Psalm 46:10

"LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me."
 Psalms 30:2

“And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results.”
James 5:15-16

Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, "Don't be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed."
Luke 8:5

Heavenly Father, We all come before you with a solemn heart and in need of Your intercession for Keith. We pray that the diseases that has come into his life soon fades into a quick remission.

Comfort him upon his sickbed, and ease his suffering. We beg for deliverance, and submit that no healing is too hard for the Lord. We therefore pray that You bless their dear families with peace, comfort, strength and understanding in Your loving name.

We believe in Your loving capacity for miracles, and ask for this on this family's behalf.

Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, grant Keith the courageous, humble acceptance of the surgery which awaits him, and let this be the relief and cure which their families and friends seek. I pray you, Lord, that these procedures be without complications and that his recovery will be speedy and complete.

Heavenly Father, You know every fiber of our being and have willed that we were born. I beseech You, Lord, to guide the minds and hands of those who will operate on Keith so that he may be restored to health and well-being.

Lord, Your scripture set forth that You heal all diseases and whoever believes in You will not perish but have an everlasting life. Strengthen this couple, their respective families Lord, in this time of his illness. Sustain them as Keith is sick in his bed. When You were on Earth, you did all things good and healed all kinds of sickness.

Help us, Lord, to pray with all our hears and allow our burden of concern and anxiety and that of Keith respective families to be lifted up with the knowledge that You are with them now and always. And Lord, when he awakes from surgery, take him and his family by your loving hand and guide them towards a life of thanksgiving and peace. As we grow older, I know we become closer to the day you accept us back into your kingdom. We ask that you delay that holy union if it be your will. Lord, in your name we all pray.

Praying for your husband and family at this time.
Look at this as a blessing that it was caught now.
Asking God to give you strength right now.

I had a quad bypass on Feb. 2 this year. One week after a heart attack and 1 day after clearing pneumonia and influenza-A in conjunction with Covid. The operation was supposed to take 4 hours but took 7.

Curious why they didn’t do a quad? Do they want to go back in in the future?

They should only have to slow the heart during the procedure.

The hospital recovery was a bit rocky. The first 2 days he may need to be able to lean forward to clear the post-operation sputum from his throat. It feels like drowning in it.

I was doped up on antibiotics from the infections so had zero infection with the operation. They used clear silicone-like glue to glue my chest together and fill the holes where my veins were “harvested”.

My advice: He should be home a week or so after the operation. Make sure the house is cleaned with bleach and dust free as airborne contaminants are a threat to the lungs and incisions. My lungs burned the first night until I had the whole house cleaned and installed air cleaners.

Be on the lookout for post-ICU delirium. It’s a real thing and I had it pretty bad. I’d equate it to a stroke. It was hard to walk (stumble) for weeks and I still get bad dizziness and fatigue. But it could also be Covid’s ‘long tail’.

Of all I went thru I’d say the bypass operation went the best. Zero issues with the recovery from the operation. But it took longer than the 6 months due to the other infections.

Best of luck.
