Reps for ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos are lobbying for him to take over as host of “Jeopardy!,” according to The Wrap, citing a “highly placed” source.
The website says the 59-year-old — who co-anchors “Good Morning America” on ABC — has been “actively” chasing the role.
ABC, which has the syndication rights to the game show, will have to decide on a replacement with the game show’s distributor, CBS Television, and producer Sony Television. …

I think Ken Jennings would be perfect for the job. He's already well known to Jeopardy fans, well liked, is obviously very knowledgeable on a wide variety of subjects, and has the right temperament for the job.
Alex Trebek may have dropped a hint about this on the show a few weeks ago. They had Jennings give all of the clues in one of the categories. After the category was finished, Trebek said: "I'm a little nervous after watching how well Ken Jennings did in presenting those clues. He's got me looking over my shoulder."
The perfect solution! Game show host.
