Since I have moved, and now have my apartment kind of put together, I have been embroidering table runners for my two girls for their homes, and this friend of my daughter has no family so we have ‘claimed’ him, the two of them are coming out to Utah for Christmas...this will be the first time since his Great Aunt passed that he has had a real Christmas...he is so excited...my daughter says he is driving her crazy, in a funny way, we are totally enjoying listen to him about how he is going to have a ‘real Christmas’ with a ‘real family’...
I knit some, knit and purl, no cable and fancy stuff, to bad we don’t live closer, you could teach me all of this and I could teach you how to crochet...
I am getting excited for the Holidays even if we can’t do much, our Governor put us back under house arrest again last night...lol...
Glad you adopted the family-less man! Yeah, i wish we lived closer, too.
My Mom taught me to sew, crochet, embroidery, paint (even if it was "paint by numbers" LOL), cook, clean, do laundry, fish, crab, work, drive and countless other life skills.
Many of the first skills I listed were for making gifts for friends and family. The blushing from the gushing was extreme on my part.
She always said she didn't want her sons to have to be dependent on anybody, including a wife/woman.
Knitting was one of the few things she didn't teach me.
I do miss her since her death.
