hotel California.
Saw them live in concert during that tour. Loved the song. Great guitar work, great music.
Now days, the lyrics are maybe disturbing. I never really put them together, but in the world of pedophilia and blackmail, they take on a different, less innocent meaning. Perhaps they were trying to tell us something, without telling us exactly what they were trying to tell us?

Perhaps they were trying to tell us something, without telling us exactly what they were trying to tell us? Maybe what they were doing themselves. From Henley's Wiki page:
'Henley called paramedics to his home on November 21, 1980, where a 16-year-old girl was found naked and claiming she had overdosed on quaaludes and cocaine. She was arrested for prostitution, while a 15-year-old girl found in the house was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.'
16 and a 15 year old?

The Eagles started in Laurel Canyon. Interesting place full of...intrigue. Let’s call it that.

The motif of the song is oft covered, see Home By The Sea by Genesis or Stay by Oingo Boingo

Yeah, I hesitated putting HC on the list for that reason. But it's a great song, especially for Halloween--creepy music and lyrics.
