My Senior Chief OS (Operations Specialist) was a former Radarman. He had a running battle with the ETs (Electronics Technicians) to the point when he told them something was off with the radars they just went and fixed it because he was always right. He was always tweaking the radars.
One afternoon while we were underway, the XO wandered into combat and peaked over the shoulder of the OS on the SPS-10 scope (Surface Search Radar). He spoke up, "Damn it Senior Chief. I told you to stop tweaking the radar. The Captain will expect it to always work this good."
