During the same general time period Seattle had Nightmare Theater (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euwNTwYQ-rE). Definitely cheesy and not nearly as elaborate as The Hilarious House of Frightenstein, it was still mildly entertaining.

When I was a lad back in Da Burgh we had Chilly Bill Cardille hosting Chiller Theater on Saturday nights.
I’d have traded him in for Elvira’s boobies any old day. :)

For those older than fossils, Boston TV had the semi-animated Feep as host of some third-rate flicks. Feep was a robot, sort of.

My memories of Vincent Price are mainly of his starring in cheap William Castle produced horror flicks, and the same genre from AIP (only later did I see him in Laura and other 40s and 50s flicks). Great to read this about him.

Once upon a time, pretty much every city had their own "horror movie hosts" those hammy guys (and one particular gal) who'd introduce schlocky public-domain flicks at midnight at the local station. Thought she was referring to Elvira...
