I expect to be warm in the summer, especially at Webelos Adventure Camp.
I just mixed up the last of the self-rising cornmeal mix, and we’ll eat the result (when it’s baked) with leftover chili for lunch. Next time we want cornbread, it will be the real thing.
James went upstairs and came back complaining that it was cold, so I sent him back to make sure all the windows are firmly closed and latched.
I just got back from visiting Casey, and as we had discussed before, his consensus is that the truck is well and truly headed for the junk yard. I’m going to take it to him in the morning and then he will bring me home. During the day, he’ll check it out.
I told him the most expense I was willing to pay for would be an oil change (almost due, anyway) and new spark plugs. Just whatever it takes (within reason) to keep it on the road for the next three-to-six months.
He was very sweet and said he would in the meantime (3-6 months,) be looking for something else for me to drive. I thought that was kind of him.
Chili and cornbread sound good, but I’m out of both at the moment. I had a small cardboard pizza. Somehow, Red Baron singles aren’t as tasty as they were when I was working.
So how are you feeling? Are you finally feeling as well as you did before the C-19 hit? And the rest of the family? Have they improved?
Now, I’m beginning to feel as tired as if I just spent another sleepless night. Tomorrow morning, before I take the truck to Casey, I need to get that other application ready to be sent off. While I’m trying to move, life just keeps happening, and interfering with what I’m trying to do. Go figger.
