Your apartment should have supportive bars as a regular feature. It’s such a basic, low-cost way to help prevent falls for the elderly.
I am not elderly. I am simply no longer historically challenged.
Only in the bathroom, in the tub area. And there, it’s overkill: one small vertical at the rear, a small vertical at the faucet end and a long one on the wall. There are adjustable bars that can be fitted over the outside edge of the tub, but this bathroom is so small, it would present a safety hazard, rather than a precaution.
No other bars in any other room.

The new way home took me farther west than I wanted to be, but there is another road about a hundred yards to the east that is probably the one I want. It’s hard to judge which one to choose because the map on the phone is not a relief map.
Anyway, I made it home without too many people cursing at me.
