Well! The worst of it is done. Right now, there is a plastic mattress cover, a mattress pad, two blankets and a set of sheets in the trunk, with room yet for the two pillows. Only one of the wheels seated properly, but I’ll contact the seller.
The wheels came in a fabric drawstring bag, so when the trunk is being ornamental, they will be hidden. I’m VERY happy with it! So happy in fact that when the pillows come off my bed a week from Monday, (I also bought two new ones) I will put them in it then stack packed containers on top of it.
Imma be doin’ a happy dance for a few weeks! :o])
I still have to schlep the big ol’ box it came it out to the dumpster and break it down, but that can wait for later.
(I only quit because the Ruling Back said it was time. Doesn’t mean I’m done. Just that I had to quit for now.)
I have to go get a prescription this morning, so I’ll take some stuff to the thrift shop for donation, as well, and give me more room to work.
Congratulations to James and Vlad, and may they begin to realize what “being an adult” really means. I hope they don’t weenie out.
If you had a cat, the big ‘ol box would be repurposed.
Congratulations!
I’m going to hector James out of bed and then get dressed. DP and I plan to go to the wholesale landscape supply place - opposite the vet’s office - to look at paving stones and stuff. We’re talking with a landscape guy about doing some work in the back yard.
I’m sure they’ll do fine, because the alternative is repaying me for the fees!
Ooohhh... how much fun is planning a landscape??
We had a dinky little back yard in CA, completely fenced, but when we moved in it was just dirt, which meant it was muddy when the rain came in off the Bay. So, I figured if we were going to live there for the duration (Igor was working for Ford-Aerospace) I wanted to look out on a nice yard.
By the time we moved, we had a very nice yard. We even built Rusty (Siberian husky) a doghouse from a single sheet of plywood. He didn’t stay outside, of course, but when he was out, he had a shady spot. I liked it there. It was a very large, three-bedroom apartment.
Ah, yes! Incentive!
You’ll have to let me know about your landscape plans because that stuff still interests me, even though I can’t do any of my own.
Is today the first day of Spring?
Our intentions include replacing the pergola, which is suffering from rust, building a fire pit, and adding a path and seating area (in addition to the Cement Patch). The landscape guy is from here, so he’s very familiar with the soil conditions we face.
Oh, crikey! It’s been a busy morning! I think I’m going to quit for the day, at least until I have to run errands.
Sounds like a plan! I’m thinking of going to Walmart. I’m out of bananas. But maybe I’ll go read a book instead.
Frank spent the night with a friend, and I need to be alert to his return, so he can go straight to the shower!
I did a couple of other minor things that were in no way associated with anything that looked like work, so I’m just hanging out.
I may do dishes in a bit. If my back will let me. Or not.
Or I may just go stroll past the new trunk and drool. ;o]
Wellnow. That was almost a wasted trip. I got the prescription OK, then went to the thrift store to drop of the donation stuff, and they aren’t taking donations today. “Short-handed,” she said.
So, with a little judicious juggling, I may be able to add the two cases of water on Tuesday’s trip to Walmart, but for now, I’m stuck with it unless someone from the church will take it with them on their next trip to the church thrift store.
I’ll check tomorrow.
*sheesh*
Sheesh.
I hope it works out the next time.
I had a nap while DP and Tom went shopping. Now we’re going to look at landscape stuff.
Wellnow. That was almost a wasted trip. The landscape place closes at noon. But we went to Walmart and got bananas and a bunch of stuff for Tom.
It’s one of those days for both of us.
Meanwhile, back in the canyon, the wind is blowing like crazy. I was in bed but my right leg began to throb again so here I am.
First day of spring, and it’s snowing. Enough so that some of it actually stayed as snow on the ground for whole minutes!
Our day was just windy and ugly. Today will be more of the same.
In 1966, I was living in Provo, and training at Signetics on the night shift in June. I came out at 0700 to find an inch of snow on the ground. It didn’t stay, of course, but still.
Weather has no rules.
Jake was out all night. He’s super offended now.
What a sweet little Sunday floof!
Good morning.
So Jake got a healthy portion of rain, then? He’ll probably sulk all day, now.
Did you have a good evening?
