Amen to that! I feel like throttling the dogs that bark incessantly and giving their owners a fate worse than death. Being a responsible pet owner means you don’t allow that pet to disturb your neighbors. I seldom ever let my dogs out without me being on the other end of a leash, and if I put them on a lead outside, they were brought in at the first bark. Which explains why I’m such a stickler for being a responsible pet owner.
As for cats, I never let them out. I’ve seen too many lying on the roadside, or, as was the case in LA, heard too many of them being torn apart by feral dogs. Everyone is different, though. I don’t imagine your cats being a nuisance to anyone, since they mostly forage in the woods for excitement.
Well, Shannon goes to people’s houses and tells them she’s needy!
I can relate to that. I had a daughter who did it. She’s grown up, now, and lives in her own neighborhood, so who knows what she’s doing? ;o]
We seem to have a dog who thinks she has a right to demand attention. So she will just come into a room and yip. To me that’s a “must fix” but to Mrs. ArGee it’s OK until someone complains. And she’s insisting on this “dog whisperer” training approach which is getting there but is taking forever. I hope it eventually works.
I’ll admit it isn’t a long period of barking, but I would still have already stopped it using the “I’m alpha and you’re not so stop” training approach.
There was a post on my NextDoor feed today from someone asking about ways to get a rat terrier to stop barking. All the replies were about gentle, positive reinforcement ... including one that said, “That’s what we’re doing. It hasn’t worked yet, but we’ll keep trying.”
I assume none of them gives a *** about their neighbors.
Here’s a clue: if you don’t have a basement full of rats to kill, don’t get a rat terrier!
I’m with you on the Alpha-thing. But don’t get me started. Bad habits are easier to stop in the beginning than to break after any period of time.
Rat terriers are good for killing rats. Otherwise, they’re nothing but nervous barking rats. One shouldn’t have them unless all are on a farm, away from people dwellings.
We finished “Henry V.” After lunch, we can watch the Kenneth Branagh movie.
I wish I could say I finished something. Well, I did. The laundry. But that’s all.
I’m going to watch “Murders in the Rue Morgue” in a bit. Van Kilmer and George C Scott with Rebecca de Mornay. I wonder if it will be any good. I loved the story when we studied it in school. Well, we studied Poe, so I saw a lot of his stories that had been made into movies.
(Oh, yes! I forgot to tell you! The mixer is out for delivery! :o]))
Good cast, and good news about the mixer. We had naps, and now I’m going to take a shower.
The mixer is here. I’d do a happy dance but maybe tomorrow morning.
I’m wondering why Hillary has been so quiet lately. I guess figuring out how a POTUS can commit suicide takes a lot of effort.
I have Covid-19. A little gripa and no sense of smell. The teenbros are scheduled for testing tomorrow morning.
My pastor is going to laugh at me when I call the church later to inform them. I told him last week that I never get sick, and he said, "Now you've jinxed it!" and he was right.
Floofy morning kitteh!
I heart dat fing!
Good morning.
I’m so sorry about the Covid-19. My sense of smell has been acute since the onset of the ugly disease, so maybe we could trade a little bit. ;o]
The trip to Walmart is looming but I really don’t want to go. Maybe I’ll go a little bit later, because it’s hard to see the road in the dark with that right eye of mine.
I have to re-do the letter to my Favorite Son, since I had news that is no longer valid. Good thing I didn’t mail it yesterday!
And, it’s Tuesday, or Twosday, or whatever. Happy Tuesday.
Prayers up. Hopefully it will remain a very mild case.
