Morning floof looks bewildered by the new day.
Good morning.
I slept fairly well, but the fatigue is still the Boss of Me.
Perhaps today will be a better day.
I hope today is a much better day! It’s cold here. The cats didn’t want to go out.
I had ordered some mincemeat directly from Smucker’s, and have been tracking it’s progress. Yesterday morning, it was scheduled for a Monday delivery, but on Thursday it was scheduled for a Saturday delivery. So I got ready for bed and sure enough the doorbell rang.
FedEx delivered a very large box from Smucker’s. It was also very heavy. I took it into the kitchen to open it and found not one jar of mincemeat, but three! One of them was either dropped, breaking the seal on the lid, or the contents began to freeze, expanding and forcing the lid off.
Either way, I had a jar that had lost some of the mincemeat. The smell was gorgeous! Anyway, I sent an email, thanking them for the two extra jars (I only paid for one) and telling them of the problem. I also took photos of the jar, so there would be no mistaking the problem, if I’m asked.
It didn’t make it in time for Christmas, but I will make a pie for New Year’s Day and toast to my dad! I think I’ll make a hard sauce for it, and though I have no actual rum to put in it, I do have rum flavoring. :o])
I received a reply (on a Sunday?!) and they said the two extra jars was a “warehouse error” and that I should just enjoy the “extra jar.” I will! The expiration date on all of them is November of 2022, so I’m good! ;o])
Excellent. We got a whole misdirected order from Wolferman’s Muffins once. They said they would resend to the actual customer, and we should keep the erroneous box. We handed the stuff out at church on Christmas morning.
I’ve cleaned the stove and mopped the kitchen floor. Shannon was licking the floor, which is a sign of major food slops!
Wolferman’s has delicious crumpets and their muffins are to die for, and Harry and David’s fruits are amazing. I had no idea there were so many wonderful gift selections from so many different companies. Any company that sends chocolates (Lintdor and Godiva!) is an instant favorite with me!
However, I’m happy with the gift of two extra bottles of mincemeat! (And from the reactions I get when I tell people, I get the feeling mincemeat is an acquired taste.)
I’ve done nothing. Except just now, I got up and had some lunch of a slice of pumpkin pie after I took the 10:00 dose of pills.
I’m trying not to look at the clock and will it to be bedtime. :o|
It’s official. We gots the ‘Rona.
Ohno...Well, take all the flu “remedies” like stay in bed, plenty of liquids and chicken soup. Especially for The Mom. Lots of chicken soup for her, and meanwhile, I’ll send up a whole new batch of prayers, designed especially for an aging Mom. <3
Couldn't wait for the vaccine, huh?
I’m very sorry to hear that. I hope you have a quick and full recovery!
No Monday, thanks.
LOOK! It’s Monday in Kittehville.
Good morning.
Silly me, I woke up at midnight or shortly after, and as a result, the laundry was done by 0210. Walmart will be next at 0640. I’m tired going into it so I hope I stay alert enough to get there and back with no problems. It does mean, however, that I’ll have to be extra careful in reading my list.
When I walked over to the clubhouse to do the laundry about 0130, the moon was glowing in a clear sky. When I came out some 45 minutes later, there were clouds building up and trying to hide the moon. Now the weather service says we’ll have 70% chance of rain all day, and the temp is dropping, so snow can be had in the mountains. Skiers will be happy!
It seems every time I go out and see the moon almost at the Full, I think of Samwise Gamgee in Rivendell. I’ve lost time again. Or it’s flying faster than I think.
I admit, I didn’t look at the moon this morning. I’ll have to make sure to do so tonight, if it’s not cloudy.
It’s supposed to be in the 50s this afternoon.
I always look at the moon as well as the stars on a moonless night and whisper a silent (or not so) prayer of thanksgiving for such beauty. There are so very many things to be thankful for!
Walmart wasn’t too crowded, but I suppose most of the people won’t show up until Customer Service opens, so they can exchange or get a refund from someone’s Christmas mistakes. Still, I ripped though it, getting my cardio up for a few minutes. Now, of course, I’m worn out.
Like I said: CFIDS, old age or laziness? I think I’ve felt this way for half my life. One thing is sure, and that is that Monday is done for me. I like Tuesdays better, now because I don’t have to try and sort pills before I go to Walmart.
Time skips are for character-building.
In that case, I’m quite a character.
Thanks, Bob. You made my day. ;o]
I’m not the author, but I think I know Him well.
Indeed. I don’t know Him as well as I would like, but I’ve only been working on the relationship the better part of a century. Maybe. ;o]
We went to the mall. It was underwhelming, but the kids got some Lego.
