"how many hundreds of thousands of dollars is that. Does it add up to a million?"

In my generation, among tradesman it was understood that you don't mess with someone's tools. Destroying a way to make a living was considered one of the lowest crimes imaginable. God help the tool thief if the tradesmen caught him.

This firebug needs to be caught and lynched. Quietly of course, just leave him dangling from some back road bridge.

Excellent comment. And you are so correct. I was a tool heavy manufacturer for 25 years. We were broken into probably twice a year as we were located in an inner city area. They only took the money out of our drink and snack machines. No one ever stole our tools.
