If the FBI were taking the hard drive seriously, they would not have announced that they’re investigating the contents to be part of a “Russian disinformation campaign,” would they?
Neither should such an investigation take ten months.
Finally, the fact that they said anything at all means there is no ongoing investigation regarding the hard drive because, as you rightly pointed out, if there were, they would not have said anything at all.

You seem to think that Trump has not gotten rid of any of the bad guys and therefore the FBI is just as rotten as it was under 0bola. That is a mistaken belief and a sorry underestimation of Trump’s abilities.
1. Why would the FBI make an announcement of who/what they’re going to be investigating? A) they wouldn’t.
2. An investigation involving Bitem Jr and no doubt BItem Sr, with multiple crimes including, it seems, child sex abuse, human trafficking, Chinese CCP member and gov, Ukraine gov and others, and Kazakhstan who knows what, and who knows who/what else, should take LESS THAN TEN MONTHS? Are you kidding?
3. Has there been any statement from the FBI or any LE agency on this? You say “the fact that THEY said anything at all” and who are the “they”?
The fact that all this info is now coming out indicates that they are ready to do some LE activity.
