"can you please define cafeteria christian" I've heard this expression referring to people who just pick and choose the biblical doctrines which they want to follow but ignore what they don't want.
I think this is more common in some mainline denominations and Catholics.
In a way it goes hand in hand with that trope you hear a lot "I'm spiritual but not religious."
