'I might never play again': Renowned Japanese jazz pianist is robbed of his ability to play after being beaten up by teens on NY subway

A renowned Japanese jazz pianist has been robbed of his ability to play his instrument after he was attacked by eight teenagers at a train station in New York City.

Tadataka Unno, 40, who may never be able to play the piano again, was exiting the West 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue subway station in Harlem on September 27 when the suspects blocked the turnstiles and confronted him.

The musician attempted to walk around the group, but was yelled at and pushed from behind. He was eventually punched in the face and body.

According to Unno's wife, racial slurs were also yelled during the attack.

But police say no anti-Asian remarks were indicated in the report but the investigation is ongoing.

Unno was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he underwent surgery on his shoulder.

'I had no idea why I was shoved. One of them pointed at me and said, This guy just pushed me' to her peers. This was not true,' Unno told CNN.

'One of the others said, "She's pregnant," as if to imply that I had just attacked a pregnant person.'

Unno said: 'I might never play again.

'The trauma, both physical and mental, are severe, and I have no timeline for a full recovery.'

Unno said he is completely unable to use his right arm following the attack.

Jennings, an instructor at the Julliard School, and a good friend of Unno's says he is now suffering mentally and physically and is unable to play his instrument, which is his sole income.

'He's going to need some type of cushion to not worry about it, the medical bills, and he's going to need therapy,' Jennings told CBS Local.

The show “COPS” was very instructive. Millions of people learned to just lie to authorities. The cops would pull someone over, and they would claim to not know their name, whose car it is, whose drugs these are, etc.

I don’t think they learned to lie from COPS. I think it is just part of their nature as criminals. COPS just showed the rest of us. You see the guy doing something illegal and then hear is heartfelt explanation of how he didn’t do anything wrong, or the other guy hit him first, etc. . Who are you going to believe, him or your lying eyes? Thing is, they lie so quickly and so convincingly that you begin to doubt. I think that’s one reason cops tend to be cynical.

Actually, we’re planning on making the whole coast red next summer. When we get time off it has always meant visiting relatives, all west of us. I’ll be retiring next spring. Then we’re headed east, not to mention south. We have no need for the northeast.

There are lots of places to visit on this planet. I love to drive, but I don’t have much of a drive to see every state or every nook and cranny. I’d rather spend it “re-seeing” places like Kauai, HI. :)

How many justices on the supreme court that made that decision were from or lived in the Hampton’s?

“How many justices on the supreme court that made that decision were from or lived in the Hampton’s?”

I don’t know.

More pertinent is how much money came from people with homes there to elect Democrats?

Answer: A lot.

“People from the Hamptons” infers voters not vacationers. Suffolk county, was Republican until the 80’s. In 2016 it went for Trump. I get what you are saying generally, rich liberals are a blight on the republic, but even then, criminals are also a blight on the republic.

Yes. Rich liberals have more power than street criminals and are the ones who make it easier for criminals and street thugs to operate.
