One reason (IMHO) why Islamic countries are so dysfunctional is their pervasive culture of lying and deceit, where nobody trusts each other.
Well it’s not surprising. Islam is a lie and lies create great dysfunction whereas the truth set people free.
I worked with someone who had to escape from Iran. She didn’t trust anyone and to her everyone was a potential enemy. Always fighting. Always contending. Sad because I saw potential in her to be a worthwhile person.
