Won’t happen. The law disfavors prior restraint against the press. Pentagon Papers case.

Plus, a false negative poll number won’t be defamation. The theory of a poll is relative popularity measures, and are not a question of character.

The press is trading on whatever belief and support it has among the public. Heck, even National Enquirer has people believing in Batboy.

Separate from the rank dishonesty of the press we also have, compounding the issue, rank dishonesty by the candidates, surrogates, and advertising. There’s no remedy at law for broken campaign promises.
