My only thought at the moment is that Pompeo, who preceded her as DCI, had to have had a hand in selecting her. Who else that Trump trusted would know as much as Kansas?

I still think that Brennen and Comey are as smug as they are because they know they were following the direct orders of Obama ... probably even have it in writing.

lj, the only thing that comes to mind is "Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer." Shoot, DJT kept the whole upper level of the DOJ, State, and several others, intact from the Obama administration for quite a while after inauguration. He still gives paychecks to quite a few enemies in the middle levels.
