From what I’ve seen, this Chinese Frankenvirus, although remarkably stable, still has mutated into at least 11 different strains or variations. So people who have had it once can be re-infected by a different strain, although the symptoms will typically be mild or non-existent the second time around, due to a partial immunity to the second strain.
So what I’m seeing is that after the initial vaccine is created, we’re eventually going to get an annual vaccine, sort of like the flu shot, where the three most likely strains for a given year are put into the shot. And if I were you, unlike the flu shot, which some people still avoid, I would definitely go ahead and take this one.
