I don’t see a test for a thong mask.

You’re right. We must fight this, in every town, county, and state.

Throwing the flag on the last one. A well fitted N99 with valves and behind the head velcro closure is the most effective for “personal” protection of the ones shown. Probably more protective for others around you than half on the list.

I use the surgical mask Costco gave me in April. But I cut 9 1/4 slots in it so I can breathe. The elastic bands keep coming off so I have to staple them back on.
It looks pretty disgusting now, but nobody says anything. I only wear it when I positively, absolutely have to wear a mask - when employees chase me down in the store - which is unbelievably rare.
Ha I'm the same - bought some decent N95s maybe 4-5 years ago for when I was doing major woodworking in the garage. I have two, one that usually sits in the truck and the other that stays in my pocket, and I only wear them is someone at the store verbally requires me to. Doesn't happen very often. But by now the metal strip has split in the middle, and the cloth is pretty dirty/linty from my pocket. I've had maybe two places offer me a new mask, but most people have no idea on proper mask wearing and don't comment on it.
It's annoying to wear, but doesn't bother me much, I fold the bottom (chin) half up into the mask so I can just breathe below it, if they actually say something about wearing it over the nose.

Seems to me, that only
sick people should be wearing masks, supposedly to prevent spreading to others whatever ails them.
But then again, I think we all know by now that it's not so much about prevention as it is about control.

If your glasses fog up, your mask isnt sealing.
If you have any facial hair more than a Hitler-stache, your mask isn't sealing.

Videos I’ve seen show some Walmart customers have the best ideas for beating virus’. OMG!

"He kinda lost me when he used that dust mask without pinching the metal nose clip around his nose." Heres a video where another gentleman starts vape test by mentioning the metal nose clip as he presses it around his nose.
Let's see if these masks hold in coughing using vaping
Pressurized air is going to find the cracks, especially in Hollywood masks.

IMO the effectiveness numbers in this piece are too optimistic.
Those numbers might be decently accurate, in a controlled lab environment where 100% of the testing air is channeled through the fabric. For example, the blue/white surgical masks are #2 with ~90% efficiency, yet that doesn't include the fact that they aren't sealed, so about 70% of your breath is going around the mask, not filtered through it.

There was a New Study that “suggested” that if elephants flapped their ears fast enough they “may” be able to fly.

You dont think that the FORCED virus particles, from a masked sneeze, wont travel OUTSIDE of a mask...and, into your airspace (if youre standing anywhere close by)??? A bare naked virus particle is not going to survive long enough to do anything.
A virus particle suspended in a snot droplet is the infectious one. Those droplets are bigger than the naked virus.
Whether the droplets get forced through a mask depends on the mask type.
BUT, even though an N95 won't stop a plain old virus particle, it will stop most of the droplets, which is where the real danger lies.

Hahaha.
I’ve thought about doing the Vader mask thing, but I don’t quite have the physique to pull the look off.
That, and I doubt you can get a Vader mask with prescription lenses. That would be inconvenient.

The best mask is a BIG SMILE! If I have no symptoms, I’m not going to spread COVID. My basis? I know three couples where one person had COVID, was asymptomatic - AND THEIR SPOUSE DIDN’T CATCH IT!
They lived as man & wife with someone who had COVID, asymptomatic, and didn’t catch it!
One of the most exhaustive studies on spread with extensive tracing concluded asymptomatic spread was well below 1%.
So feel free to wear a mask if you wish. I see no need. If I have symptoms, I’ll stay at home.

I made mine out of lace, just as effective as anything else out there!

You are spot on about Fauci. He is a career bureaucrat who only cares about his stats, power and prestige.
He knows damn good and well there will never be a completely effective vaccine for this. At best, there will be a vaccine like the flu vaccines, which helps some but others will still get sick. So, the Democrat Dictators will hold onto absolute power until some judges grow a big enough pair to stop them. And Fauci will need more and more budget for his "fight."
