I didn’t so I looked it up. It was an Honorary Doctor of Laws (whatever that is) and he was the Commencement Speaker. This was in 2009.

I can’t remember what his position is - president of ND? Other? Would he have been the one to pick 0bola for this award, or just the functionary handing it out?
