As a matter of fact it is very beneficial to boys to get hit in the mouth and to have hit someone in anger, it shapes masculinity and it identifies who is who; who is a good guy and who is a bad guy, who you can count on and who will run, who is a bully and who is psychotic.

Sorry, anger is caused by many things and hitting in response is not necessarily justified.
You ever hit someone? If you did it should have been done in anger. You don't hit them because you are angry. You hit them because they did something that justifies hitting them. That makes you angry.
Who you can count on and who will run. I think I know which one you might be.

The Toddlers most excellent post was not about “justification”. The post was an effort to describe good, old fashioned masculinity.
Men will be men. If a man hits another man and that other man does not believe it to be “justified” a good scrap could come about. Sometimes men need to settle things among men.
Women shouldn’t be messsing with manly things (I AM a woman BTW) and men need not mess around with womanly things like crying over broken fingernails and gettin your feelings hurt..
