Actually I think Clinesmith and his law license are toast. He committed a very simple, overt act that is provably false, and what’s more, he knew it. A good prosecutor would put the screws to this guy if he didn’t take the deal.

Not trying to downplay your comment. You’re right. But for people like Clinesmith losing his law license isn’t a big deal. He’ll be known as one of the people that went down for the cause and he’ll get a job somewhere, as a consultant or something like that. Work at one of their “non profits”.

As for the prosecutors, in DC and any other big city there aren’t many good prosecutors. With regards to this, no one in the DOJ or DC courtroom is going to put the screws to him, for any reason. He should already be in prison. He is not to the best of my knowledge. So, he intentionally committed a crime that would have you and me, already with an inmate number, while he’s going to happy hour in and around DC. And I’m pretty sure that his deal is going to be something that you and I would never receive.
