Not to nitpick but to me Northern Michigan is the Upper Peninsula, not the northern portion of the mitten.
Probably too conservative in the UP for the Bidens.
I’m going to nitpick back. Traditionally Up North is considered north of Bay City up to the tip of the Keweanau Peninsula.
So in fact describing TC as northern Michigan is correct.
Up North is the upper part of the lower peninsula, some say north of the 45th parallel. The UP is the UP, still up north, but it’s the UP! That’s even better than Up North, farther anyway.
