I always think of that song when we have iguana on the barbie.

This tune, inspired by a wall that was in the news at the time, got a lot of airplay over KWIZ, my favorite radio station in the late sixties.
West of the Wall--Toni Fisher (1962)

Moonlight feels right, is famous to me as being one of very few pop songs to use the Xylophone.

I was a 19 y/o kid when I moved from Ohio to Hollywood in ‘68 - just before Charles Manson was doing his satanic acts just a few minutes from my front door.
Many trips to Tijuana and, as I recall, the road became dirt when you crossed over the line into Mexico.
That said, I’ve never had iguana - BBQ or otherwise.

Abergavenny - Shannon That got so much airplay over KEZY in the summer of 1969 that I thought it was a big hit. It may have been locally, but not nationally. I along with many others thought he was singing "Africa Benny."

Did you comprende those DJs in Tijuana, or was it a riddle?

Though Cheech & Chong had many many great comedy skits, I believe they only had 2 actual songs with airtime: Basketball Jones, and Born in East LA. So .... 2-hit wonders?
Walkin' My Cat Named Dog - Norma Tanega.
In a Gadda Da Vida - Iron Butterfly.
Alone Again - Gilbert O. Sullivan
Category of "Eew! Gross!" gory 1-hit wonders ---
Timothy - The Buoys. (Cannibalism. Great tune though.)
D O A - Bloodrock. (Aftermath of fatal car crash. No redeeming traits; lousy tune; shock value only.)

Louie Louie The Kingsmen. Must be hundreds of covers of this song, but the Kingsmen's version was a YYYYUUUUGGE hit and actually a subject of an FCC investigation, some people misheard the jumbled up lyrics as being obscene. The song is about a homesick Jamaican sailor.

LOL! Good one.
Tijuana, in those days, was OK to visit during the day...but NEVER at night. My wife and I always skedaddled back home to Hollywood while it was still light.
