Democrats worry Feinstein can’t handle Supreme Court battle
Yahoo/Politico ^ | September 23, 2020 | John Bresnahan and Marianne LeVine

As the Senate prepares for yet another brutal Supreme Court nomination fight, one particularly sensitive issue is creating apprehension among Democrats: what to do with 87-year-old Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the ranking member of the Judiciary Committee.

Feinstein, the oldest member of the Senate, is widely respected by senators in both parties, but she has noticeably slowed in recent years. Interviews with more than a dozen Democratic senators and aides show widespread concern over whether the California Democrat is capable of leading the aggressive effort Democrats need against whoever President Donald Trump picks to replace the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. ... Feinstein sometimes gets confused by reporters’ questions, or will offer different answers to the same question depending on where or when she’s asked. Her appearance is frail. And Feinstein's genteel demeanor, which seems like it belongs to a bygone Senate era, can lead to trouble with an increasingly hard-line Democratic base uninterested in collegiality or bipartisan platitudes. ... Democrats gnashing their teeth again over nature’s bitter truths. But aging is a good thing. No one gets to be a demagogue forever.

Can you imagine if democrats could live forever? It’d be Hell on earth.

The democrats should relax. Lifelong commie DiFi could handle this at age 95.

She should have been bounced from the Judiciary Committee for her behavior during the Kavanaugh hearings.

I think you are correct. I suspect the only battle will be to keep Mittens in line when he decides to grandstand.

“If she isn’t capable of performing her job, why is she still in office?”

Your question applies to more demonkraps than di-fi, including much younger ones, at all levels of government. Mayor of Portland, OR or Gubnar of WA are examples - and in their cases, the results of their “incapability” can be seen by even the blind.

But if you are a devout Catholic, you can expected to be publicly ridiculed and insulted.

The utter FAILURE of the relevant individuals AND organizations of the US Roman Catholic polity, like the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) in NOT condemning this, is illustrative of THEIR MOVE LEFTward. In prior generations, such open bias would have whole parishes out marching, but not now.

Most of US are still waiting for an explanation of he employment of a Chinese National as her chauffeur for 20 years for God’s sake. In a sane and functional world her constituents would have recalled her long ago

Having the hearings at all is a huge risk the Democrats don’t need. Bringing out the Craziest of their suppers to riot isn’t going to play well today.

The boomers just can’t let go. These Octos have no business in government. Republican or Democrat, they should look at the calendar, and move on.

Alinski Rule #1: “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.”

We now know the dems in elected office have no real power to stop much of anything Trump does. The perception of power is gone. The only thing they have left is to pee in the punch bowl.

They don't even know who Trump will pick, yet they're heart-set on opposing.

What if the nominee is someone good, fair and without any problems?

Do they make something up again, like they did with Kavanaugh?

The whole democrat party is there to oppose, not help govern.
