I took typing in 10th grade. Served me well in later classes and in college. Touch typing at speed is a good skill.

On handwriting... My dad, b.1909, learned the Palmer method of cursive writing. Even in his late 70s he had beautiful, legible handwriting.

Personally, I find it difficult to understand how someone can graduate from HS and not even write in cursive.

I took typing in 10th also... Learned lotus 123 in that class too I think. It’s a spreadsheet like Excel.
They teach 1/2 a year of cursive in 6th grade I think. How are they going to sign their names?

Oh last year a had a check stolen from the mail and fraudulently cashed. Well I had to write the statement for my bank in cursive. Man was that hard! My hand was all cramped up afterwards. I guess they had to compare the handwriting.
