I think it aired opposite Sunday Night Football with the Seattle Seahawks hosting the New England Patriots—a rematch of the Super Bowl from 2015.
It was a nail biter with the Seahawks winning on a final play goal line stand and Russell Wilson throwing 5 TD passes. Much better than any Hollywood phony award crap.
I doubt there is much overlap between Hard core NFL fans and Emmy fans. And yes, I heard on the late news that something called “Schitt’s Creek” ran the table of Emmy awards. Go figure.
