If he really wants to set them to a tizzy, he should nominate an evangelical. With two women on the bench already, both relatively young (1954/1960), both Catholic and both liberal, leftists will think of another Catholic woman as a liberal block that will last 20 decades, given the ages of Kagen and SotoMayor.
Evangelicals already look sideways at a Scotus that’s majority Catholic as not relating to the makeup of the population - i.e., non-Catholic. Heavy on their minds is ‘catholic charities/activists that promote immigration, ‘alternate’ lifestyles, class conflict/wealth redistribution and identity politics (generalized, don’t flame me). Trump needs to appoint an evangelical. Then he will get his landslide.
