I’ve actually been told, by more than one person, that after shooting the rifle at the range, I should leave the bore “dirty” rather than scrub it - that it’ll be more accurate. At first, one would think that’s insane, but I’ve heard it from more than a couple of experienced shooters.
Still, I like a clean bore and I think that if you’re not going to shoot again in a week or two, it should be cleaned. Call me old-fashioned.
Its not as critical as it once was, because the powder is not as corrosive as it once was. That said, cleaning them after use has always been a ritual.

I think it must be because the powder we use these days is so clean... doesn’t leave much residue. I hardly ever clean my hand piece and have never had the slightest bit of problem with it.
