Question: Possible Fraud (not sure)
This is a good time to ask. Anybody here been receiving Text messages from the Trump campaign?
For nearly a year now I’ve been receiving Text messages. In the last few months they have increased to at least one a day (more often as it gets close to an event such as a debate or something like that). Sometimes it says it’s from Trump’s son, another time from his daughter but mostly from the President. I’ve gotten dozens and dozens of them probably in the last month or so.
I’m going to copy a couple of the texts:
“Pres. Trump: I couldn’t do this for everyone, so please DON’T SHARE. I sighed a photo for YOU & even left a personal note! Claim photo NOW: and has a bit.ly link.”
Most of them are saying to send money and will match. Looking for donations. But there is NEVER that famous number “88022”.
Why do they not use the 88022? And why do they use a bit.ly?
How do they know I support Trump?
And if these many text messages I get are not legit, how many other Americans are receiving them? And if people are falling for this (assuming it’s not legit) Who is getting the money?

Simple solution, buy a money order at 7/11. Sign the money order as John Patriot. Don’t send cash. Don’t put return address on envelop.

That is a tough one. Undoubtedly you have a lot invested in your career.
On the other hand, how happy are you going to be if you know you must conceal - and deny - your real identity and beliefs?
What good can an academic do if he/she can't speak the truth?

OK. I’m on my desktop and for the first time I decided to go to the bit.ly link sent with those text messages and it does take me to a secure winred site just like you see if you click donate from the Trump page.
So, I do believe nearly 100% that it’s legit.
I am extra extra careful and just like I do with my bank, I never click from emails or text messages. I normally open a browser and go directly to the official Trump website if I’m going to donate (not thru the link provided in an email / text)
But I do feel better knowing that other Trump supporters are not getting scammed by these text messages. They appear legit.
I get about a dozen message texts a day and I am FUMING about it. I doubt I will ever support any politician again because of it. Do they really think this harassment is going to have me sending them even more money? I can’t even keep up with deleting them all!
I’m going to start donating weekly but going to do it directly thru the Trump website.
I’m really hesitant about donating to Sen. Collins (my senator) because she’s so mushy and too moderate for me but the liberal woman running against her is a cross betwen OAC and Kamala Harris and she appears to be ahead in the polls.
I hope the GOP has a plan B if Collins loses that seat to a democrat because it very well could happen.
No I don’t! Already gave twice. The only thing was I kept getting text on my cell phone and emails by the hundreds!
By not acting, you are acting. That is exactly what these people want...to scare you into not acting and if they do, they have won. They are bullies and weak people (like you) fall like dominoes. Thank God, Trump has backbone to make up for those that won’t even bother to do something so simple and mundane as donating. It’s sad to see what some people have become.

I live in a very conservative area but even if 20% are Biden fans half of those could be psychos and it’s not worth it.
Because I don’t know of any gun that pulls itself out of your coat and turns around and shoots someone who’s about to hit you with a baseball bat from behind.
