Within the last week or so, Cruz specifically said that he did not want a SCOTUS seat. Rather, he wanted to stay in the Senate and, "stay fighting".
See "Ted Cruz on potential Supreme Court nomination: Thanks but no thanks":
"It is not the desire of my heart," the Texas Republican told Fox Business News on Sunday. "I want to be in the political fight. I want to be fighting to nominate and confirm three, four, five principled, constitutionalist justices. But that's not where I want to serve. I want to stay fighting right where I am in the U.S. Senate."TXnMA
I saw a woman take her seat in the United States Supreme Court
ya never node
I know what Cruz said. It’s what anyone should say.
But if Potus went to him and said “Look, Ted, you are the only candidate that can be confirmed if I nominate you now and Mitch calls for a vote before the election. Even Romney will not oppose you. If I happen to not win re-election, you will be one of four votes that could save the nation rather than 1 vote in 100.”
You tellin’ me Cruz would refuse?
Good!
