My friend just told me of the only case she knows of where Ginsburg voted with the correct side - it was a 5-4 decision stating that using thermal imaging to detect movements inside a house was a 4th amendment issue and required a warrant.

She told me that it was odd because Ginsberg sided with Scalia on that case.

This might be a festival now, but

Ginsburg voted with the correct side - it was a 5-4 decision stating that using thermal imaging to detect movements inside a house was a 4th amendment issue and required a warrant.

Is that in regards to any law enforcement trying to see if anyone is home? Or a homeowner that wants to put more than just regular cameras up to monitor their property?

That’s odd; Fire departments use a TIC (Thermal Imaging camera) often to see if there is fire inside walls/attic etc. I wonder if same device as detecting movement inside.
