My friend just told me of the only case she knows of where Ginsburg voted with the correct side - it was a 5-4 decision stating that using thermal imaging to detect movements inside a house was a 4th amendment issue and required a warrant.
She told me that it was odd because Ginsberg sided with Scalia on that case.

Is that in regards to any law enforcement trying to see if anyone is home? Or a homeowner that wants to put more than just regular cameras up to monitor their property?
That’s odd; Fire departments use a TIC (Thermal Imaging camera) often to see if there is fire inside walls/attic etc. I wonder if same device as detecting movement inside.
