I always wondered, if Carol was divorced, why her ex did not object to Mike Brady adopting the girls. (He must have, since their last name was Brady.) And evidently the girls didn’t mind losing their biological dad’s last name, or never visiting him or having a visit from him, or even mentioning him. The divorce couldn’t have been long ago, since Cindy was so young at the beginning of the series. All I can figure is, Carol’s ex must have been a real SOB. Nobody missed him, nobody visited him, nobody minded losing his name!

Ann Romano of One Day at a Time (played by Bonnie Franklin) dumped her husband Ed Cooper (played by Joseph Campanella) for no reason whatsoever, although he did try to play a part in his daughter's lives.
