I am basically a ‘speed reader’ and my eyes get ‘sore’ from reading the same line 2 or 3 times in an article.
I realize it is not a good idea to alter an article as too often it may be taken out of context etc.

You and me both! This modern "text speak" is horrendous. Like you, I'm from the old school of an introduction, body, and conclusion with paragraphs constructed using an opening topic sentence.

That's the frustrating thing -- poor (or incomprehensible grammar), people who learned spelling with "whole language" and not phonics, people who were never taught to diagram a sentence, and people who succumbed to "text" devices where it's just too much trouble to properly capitalize, spell, and punctuate sentences -- make comprehension almost impossible. It is a wonder anybody can communicate anything coherent at all.
If you listen to the audio of the riot videos, you find that ALL of those rioters are less articulate than cavemen.
