12-year-old boy suspended, cops called to his home, over plastic toy gun seen in virtual class
On that note, in about 2008 my grandson in Alabama started kindergarten. In about the 2nd month of kindergarten daughter got an emergency call to get to the principal's office to conference and pick up the boy. Daughter rushed frantically to school with typical "mom worries" about what happened. I got the "mom please pray" call as she drove.
Turns out, the 5 year old drew a rifle. It was deemed potentially scary to other kindergarteners. The school personnel could not grok that a boy (whose daddy was an army sergeant) would draw a rifle without some horrid influence in his home life. He was suspended from kindergarten for a day or 3, can't recall the number.
The rifle drawing resides in a place of honor hanging in a guest bedroom at my house.
