Ive been critical of GOP weakness but whats the upside of getting involved in the morass in Portland?
Giving up and surrendering is not the way to win back Portland. Portland residents have gotten a good dose of what they voted for, and a lot of them may be having their "mugged by reality" moment - if the GOP can't bother to put up a real, law-and-order alternative, then the GOP has given up on the Pacific Northwest for the foreseeable future.

Then Portland residents better start voting for better candidates.
And Normals better start trading in their comfortable lives to get involved in public service, rather than complaining that there’s nobody good to vote for.
Government isn’t going to get us out of this mess, unless the people take it upon themselves to do it.

I appreciate your sincere feedback. And I get what you’re saying. I guess my point is that you have to pick and choose your battles. In the Pacific Northwest there are just too many impediments to success. Expend your limited energy and resources on fights you can win that have the highest payoff. JMHO
