Admittedly, I’m into the technical side, but I have also longed for a news channel that was neutral, that just presented the facts. I don’t want to be told how to think from the left OR the right, I have no more interest in a right-wing network than in the left-slanted ones we have today.

I realize I’ve been a big fanboy for Newsnation Now, the new “balance not bias” network that debuted on Monday on the WGN America channel that unlike OAN is already on every cable and satellite system. They broadcast three hours of news in primetime from 110 Nexstar TV newsrooms around the country and it’s been amazing to see how much is actually happening across this great nation when every-other story doesn’t have to have a political spin. They cover politics but by just reporting the facts without bias. It’s why they spend a ton of money to build a state-of-the-art broadcast center and hired 140 people in the middle of a pandemic...they knew there was a gap in today’s offerings and took advantage of the opportunity.

Anyone who is interested in the “inside baseball” type of story about how a new unbiased news network was created while we were staying home and looking for TP should enjoy the “Making of Newsnation” half-hour video at the top of this page:

It’s quite compelling to me, because I am absolutely ground zero in their target market. I could have written the line in the first minute: “This show is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I don’t want someone to tell me how to think, tell me the news”.

Is Newsnation Now on the internet or just on cable?

There is no such thing as unbiased news. Deciding what is news always betrays a bias. If it were up to me, I would show all the black people murdered by other blacks, day after day, instead of showing the one killed while resisting police, and showing it endlessly, and contrast the two to show actual concern with black lives. That would be considered “conservative” though, when in actuality it is just fact-based.

Fox was considered conservative because it gave both sides. Not twisting the news in favor of one side is biased, to the left. Showing both sides is biased to me, because the left’s side is not based in reality. You don’t give time to an idiot when a genius is talking. You don’t give time to a leftist just because a Patriot has a different view.
