Unless your state FORCES mail-in-balloting on you, vote in person, BUT!
If they do, send it Registered Mail.
That way you can track it and see who signed for it when it gets there.
Of course it's still no guarantee it will get there let alone be counted when it does, but it's much more less likely to be "LOST" in the mail and you'll know where it went missing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it costs a few bucks but let me ask you this, is your vote worth it???
that is all.
I have a question for FReepers involved. In leftist states that are mandating mail-in ballots, do you still get the option of voting in person at the polls? Or are the Marxists closing the polls there?
California here. Previously during the Brown Administration we were allowed to use mail in to vote, or had to go to the Registrar of voters office to vote in person. Standing in line at the ROV with thousands of others was not appealing to us, as well as many others, so mail in voting was the choice we were left with. We always had a polling place before, and after that particular incident.
It will be interesting to see our choice with this asshat Newsom in office now.
don’t know, only mail in’s here are absentee ballots
Can we just walk it in? Or, does it HAVE to be mailed?
I think this is an excellent idea.
I live in NV and I don’t know if I’ll be able to vote in person.
Do you have any idea how long it would take poll workers to sign for thousands and thousands of ballots? President Pelosi would have served her 6 terms before the ballots from the 2020 election were counted
don’t know
yup
i don’t think that many people will read this thread...
Sending stuff registered mail will take longer to return than sending it first class. So few pieces of mail are sent registered, that increasing the volume by sending your ballot that way will simply overwhelm the system.
And then when it is delivered to the town hall, EACH piece needs to be signed for.
I understand the “desire” to confirm your ballot has been delivered...but registered mail is not the best way to do that.
If you want to pay that much, send it express or priority, and get tracking. Or just take it to the place where you can drop off ballots.
You would be surprised.
I think you mean Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested.
I think 14 days of in person early voting is the best solution.
That way you have to go in person, sign in, and vote. These
can be done at selected locations in each county.
prolly, i get the two mixed up sometimes...
We’ve applied for our absentee ballot and plan on hand carrying the ballot to the City Clerks office not any mail method.
