We have a case here where a minor is now being charged with firearm-related crimes. The legal ramifications of where he lived, how he got the firearm, any regulations related to that particular firearm, transporting (possibly) it across state lines, etc. are all relevant to the case.

To either of your issues, it is whether or not he was an accredited graduate of a Hunter Safety course, or otherwise in the company of an adult(s).
And actually, if his attackers clearly intended to pursue him for the purpose of harming his life, he may defend himself with any weapon at hand whether lawfully possessed or not, whether the state is “stand your ground” (which it is not), whether he is a resident of WI or not.
Eliminating all risk isn't living, it's its own form of slavery and it's exactly what "they" want us to do.
Many of us are getting old. We cannot hump 50 pounds for miles and then fight, not like when we were young. What we can do is take risks with far less to lose than our kids have. My top priority is to leave a free country to my kids. If that means I’m not there to watch my grandchildren grow up, I’ll call that a win if they grow up free.

Federal law prohibits sale of a long gun to anyone less than 18 years of age.
Many states and smaller jurisdictions have enacted more stringent requirements, but they cannot relax any requirements of federal law.
Thanks for you reply. I live in a Western Open Carry firearms state. Only concealed firearms must have a permit. Most people who live here are quite familiar with firearms and what they can do. Antifa had their own “Socialist Rifle Association” contingent armed with AKs and ARs.

When they marched through our town everyone on both sides knew the score, and what could happened if a single shot was fired or a single armed resident was approached to burn and loot his property. In my state if you are approached with malicious intent and “Reasonably Believe” your life,or an innocent third party’s life could be in danger you may shoot to kill.
We were not militia! Every man and woman was a resident property owner taking Defensive Action to protect their businesses, homes, and families. This is what decent people have always done from East of Eden on.
We need to rub the scales from our eyes and prepare for this fight that is being forced upon us. We are not a warlike people by nature and we have always stumbled into war reluctantly and unprepared. God has shown us such mercy and protected us when it seemed all could be lost. Then we buckled-down and did what we had to do to win.
This time the civil conflict we face will not be fought by great navies and armies sweeping across seas and continental battle fields with tens of millions following the flag into a decisive battle that will end the war.
Instead our enemy plans to destroy us in detail, community, by neighborhood, by home. There is no Private property ownership, including your home, under Marxism. This is same Marxist enemy that has always been there; slowly and patiently over the generations corrupting our Constitution, our cultural institutions ,legal and political systems, and even our right to practice our Worship and speak freely.
This is the same enemy that has come for us now. When General George Washington took his army to Valley Forge to spend the Winter of 1777-78 he had 12,000 soldiers with 400 women and children. During the fist months 2,000 died of disease. By Spring frostbite, exposure,and desertion had reduced Washington’s army to under 2,000 Soldiers.
These were the Winter Soldiers. They were the hard core of what was to become the victorious army that accepted the Surrender of British General Cornwallis at Boston years later. We are that generation for today. Winter Soldiers fighting without apology in defense of their nation, their Constitution and their homes cannot be beaten.
So, to hell with the prophets of Marxism,doom,national disrespect, guilt, and surrender. Let us stand-up together as men and women who love their Country,and their children, and fight!
Like you I am getting old. However, I will do whatever I capable of doing and then a little bit more knowing that our children's future is at stake. And maybe it will help even if just a little bit.
What we have traded for youthful vigor are wisdom and experience. And that is worth something. Actually it is worth a lot. Wisdom to know how bad it might get if we fight but also wisdom to know what is to be lost if we don't.
America has been good to me. Maybe now it is time for me to give back a little even if it is from an old fart who can't hump 50 lbs.

I believe he has wrongly been detained by the police under an overstated charge. At this point, he should be released under his own recognizance to return to his own residence until the facts and results of the incident are satisfactorily resolved. This bowing of the law officers and their District Attorney to the demands of a lawless mob is unconscionable.
I am reminded of the Zimmerman/Martin affair which was properly settled at the time of the incident, then later annulled and charges reinstated as a cowardly obsequious response to the badgering of the State's Attorney by racially-motivated agitators and the doctored accounts by the media, together with the manufacturing of false evidence by the prosecutors, to try to convict the victim of the incident.
In it, Zimmerman's life was destroyed, though he was found innocent through an apt defense of his just action, when his aggressor was beating his head on a concrete sidewalk and glorying in it.
The same will happen to Rittenhouse unless someone motivated justly relieves him of the need to re-prove his actions to save his own lie with the only reasonable means at hand.
I hope there are a lot of old farts like us. At some point they will realize that it’s time to act. We have to make sure we pass on a country as free as the one we inherited, because that is a sacred obligation to our ancestors and to our children.

Beautiful. Thanks PJ. Been some time since I’ve read it. Paine was right on in the statement “one in a thousand will shoulder a musket and join up”- for the duration.
Actually more will “wash through” an operation at a given time though. We used to call it “The Law of 1%” when I was organizing and participating in Abortion Clinic blockades with Operation Rescue in the 1980s and 90s. Over a 5 year period we had over sixty-thousand arrests, with six thousand alone at George Tiller’s Clinic in Wichita. Of course many rescuers repeated.Our goal was to save even one baby’s life.
Pro-life churches across the Country were involved, Evangelical and Catholic,contributing a universe of willing participants that had signed non-violence pledges of nearly 250,000 men, women, and children. Of these, a different 10% would participate frequently with the 1%-always. The balance of pledges would support with funding, Picketing, and blockading when they could.
Unlike BLM and Antifa, these were mostly mature family people who risked losing their jobs,and homes when they risked arrest, but did so if even one pre-born baby’s life could be saved. There were many side-walk counselors sharing the existence of Shelter Homes where they could stay, be cared for and give birth to their baby. These were the Winter Soldiers of that generation.
I close with what I hope may bring a better understanding of what I deeply believe about the value and purpose of our lives when in a split second we must decide to risk giving it up for something greater than ourselves. Several thousand of us with Operation Rescue were blockading the Margret Sanger Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic in downtown Manhattan New York. This multistory building was and is the HQ nerve center for National Planned Parenthood. It’s tentacles reach deep into every state, and is the largest network of abortion mill in America, responsible for the murder of hundreds of thousands of unborn children every year.
It was January and a cold rain was falling. The police were not brutal and we were non violent. They were dragging us from the doors into fenced “corrals”, bringing up buses to put us in and then off to jail. To slow that down some of our people would crawl under the buses and have to be pulled out and arrested before the buses could move-up to take another load. The next bus had been cleared, or so we thought, and had started to roll when I noticed a very small,very terrified, young blonde woman still under the bus curled into a fetal position, hands over her eyes, her head about to be crushed by an oncoming wheel.
I had not been arrested yet and was standing close to what was happening. I yelled, “STOP THE BUS-STOP THE BUS” I meant stop the freaking bus before it kills her. Immediately ELEVEN WOMEN ROLLED UNDER THE MOVING BUS. They thought they had been told to stop it with their bodies.
Yes, there is a merciful God though.
It was all like slow-stop dream-time motion; the women rolling under the moving bus, now a policeman reaching arms length under the bus grabbing Linda by her hair pulling her away from the wheel, twisting her small body from under the bus but unable to check his motion fell heavily on her knocking Linda unconscious. Screaming like a maniac to stop the driver heard me and hit his brake hard.
I was afraid to look under the bus at the carnage I might have caused. As I looked underneath one of these incredible courageous women look up at me with wide eyes, took a deep breath and asked, “Can we come out now?”. Guys of my generation aren’t supposed to admit that sometimes tears are shed, so I wont.
There were thirteen Winter Soldiers that day;
Linda who would not abandon her position even at the cost of her life, because a helpless baby’s was worth her own. The eleven women who rolled under a moving bus because they considered they would give up there own lives for a greater reason they would die for. Finally the policeman who was ready to risk his life to save and protect a person’s life he didn’t even know and had to arrest.
One thing they had in common and makes Winter Soldiers so rare and valuable is that they understood what they valued more than their own lives before they risked it all. But what makes them so different is that they considered the cost and acted upon what they believed was greater than themselves.
Many people like these do not live to become examples of the inspiration, and courage that we need so deeply in America today. It wasn’t that these men and women had no fear. It is courage that overcomes the fear that we all have, but they used their courage to overcome and act. Most of all what really makes a Winter Soldier possible is the greatest motive of all. I is not hatred. Hatred will not move one to sacrifice, only to harm,destroy, and kill.
The Greatest quality that makes and sustains the Winter Soldier is Love, and that Love gives us the strength to do what we have to do to make things better. Love for our children, love for our wives,love for our homes and the total community that sustains us. And yes, love for our Country that has given us our Constitution that offers us inalienable rights that come from God; the right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. But this is only an offer and our freedom must be re-won by each generation including our own
Thomas Paine gave us a look at what it took to be a Winter Soldier in 1776, and it seems the more things have changed the more they have remained the same in 2020. Strange how things can change but people stay the same.
