Just reported that a seventeen year old was arrested in Illinois in connection with the shootings in Kenosha.

If you have shot someone and you can’t get out of Dodge at least get out of Kenosha.

He apparently lived in Illinois, which explains them arresting him there. The story makes it sound like he fled to Illinois and that they had to chase him down there. One story I read before he was arrested even said there was a “manhunt” underway, which is absurd because the video shows him voluntarily walking toward the police with his hands up right after the incident (in Kenosha).

So putting aside the media’s typical inability to get a story right, my guess would be that they had contact with him last night. began investigating, and then simply went to his home in Illinois later to arrest him. I’m hoping the charges are just placeholders to hold him while they continue the investigation, but this kid did absolutely nothing wrong that I can see. The videos clearly show the sequence of events.
