What I don’t understand and what I haven’t been able to find is, what else did Clinesmith do wrong?
He’s made a plea and copped to altering an email. They already had him dead to rights on that.
So what else did he do that he’s not being charged for?
Being part of the conspiracy – because he clearly ratted out the other conspirators.

At this point, nothing is publicly known. All we can surmise is that having been offered a plea agreement, he is talking to investigators, telling them what he knows. That’s the usual reason a plea deal is made.
Whether he actually knows anything of significance is a different question.
