Yeah, we’re halfway through 2020. And what is the total number of deaths in the US this year, compared to the same point in previous years? I live in NJ, the supposed “epicenter” of this deadly, dreaded disease that’s so horrible that most people who have or have had it, don’t even know without being tested, that is so horrible and so deadly that 99.9% of the people who get it, survive. And yet, I do not know a single person who has died of it, or has been hospitalized for it. I do know a nurse who has told me that of the hundreds of COVID patients they’ve seen, the vast majority were discharged after short stays, and those that died were both very old, and had serious comorbidities. That’s because, just like the flu, COVID takes out the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Again, the only thing remotely unusual or exceptional about COVID, is the fear, panic, and utterly insane, ineffective, and destructive response to it.

You want to wear a mask, shutter yourself in your home, or whatever, be my guest. My problem with this whole thing, from day one, is that those who are scared crapless overt this thing, are all too eager to force their fears, and the insane restrictions they are certain are necessary, on everyone else. No debate, no consideration of other factors, nothing. Just: social distance, wear the mask, and watch your business, livelihood, and life be upended and/or destroyed, or else you’re just a grandma killer!

You are being manipulated. How much longer does this have to go on, and how much more do you need to see to understand that? When they start knocking on doors and forcing people into quarantine, because their “contact tracing” has determined that you *might* be infected? When they force you to receive a vaccine of dubious efficacy? When they tell you that we can never stop wearing masks, can never have large gatherings, can never stop “social distancing” and looking at everyone around us as a potentially murderously “infected” COVID threat?

15 days... We are now at 147 days (or whatever it is). When does it end? What’s the latest criteria to determine when it ends? When there’s a 100% effective vaccine? That will NEVER happen, just as it has never happened for the flu, the common cold (also a rhinovirus, like COVID). When there are no new cases, anywhere, ever? We were sold the “15 days” b.s. almost FIVE MONTHS AGO, supposedly to “flatten the curve.” At some point, that morphed into, “Do what we say, for as long as we say, no matter how ridiculous, no matter how ineffective, no matter how pointless and scientifically questionable, for as long as we say. Oh, and the rules will change on a regular basis, and we have no specific criteria whatsoever to decide when you can all live as free people again.”

So, if you want to cower in fear, just shut up and wear your mask. The rest of us would like to be free to live as we choose, and to take whatever risks we choose. And more than anything, we’d like to be able to do so without a bunch of panicked, ignorant Karens scolding us or reporting us to the very authorities who have been shoveling the fear and b.s. in our faces for the past five months.

Anyone who is so afraid of COVID, can and should stay home, avoid crowds, wear a mask, whatever. But it is immoral, unjust, and truly un-American to force everyone else to do the same.
